Hi,
I recently got 3 Camillus 4" Stockman 3-blade knives off ebay.
The pictures show the clip blade etched "Rough Cut".
The Camillus web site doesn't show this model so I am wondering if the Rough Cut was their "economy" model and what steel was used in the blades.
The "search" on this forum is apparently down so I couldn't search the archives.
Any info would be appreciated.

In the past year or two, I have seen them on the SMKW web page. They were good carbon steel blades with handles that had minimum finish work (hence "rough cut"), probably overruns. There were also stainless versions and mixed stainless carbon versions with different shields (or no shield). I have one of the mixed carbon and stainless knives (the least expensive) and it has been a good dirty jobs knife.

Thanks!
I see some web sellers have them listed at $11-12,so that answers the question of quality. They also show them as stainless.:(

The $10-15 range is about what they went for when I got mine (which was advertised by SMKW as stainless but turned out to have a carbon steel main blade). I have been happy with mine in terms of function, but it isn't much for looks. I don't worry about harming it, so I ended up using it more than I thought I would when I bought it.
