Hi all,
I picked this up off ebay for about $50.00 and was wondering if you smart people might know when it was made and what version of the Police it is? Pre-1992 is all I know because the steel is not named.

Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate any input!

Late 80's to early 90's based on the fact it has no steel markings but does have POLICE MODEL engraving.

Nice score. Those are the sort that I like to have in my collection (used, old, and ready for more).

I can not help you much only to say that I think it is pre-1990. All that really would matter to me is that it is an early one, and it is in great shape...oh and that you got it at a good price! Enjoy!

Well, I might be putting it up back on ebay. I have a Military coming (hopefully today) and will probably only keep one. Problem is, nobody by me stocks these models, so I have to buy them to hold them and see which one fits well.

so..keep your eyes out and you may get your chance at it!:D

Thank you!

As for "version". Incredible as it sounds there have only ever been two "generations" of the all stainless Police in the over 25 years it's been in production. The first, as exemplified by the original "P.I.G." Police, had slab handles (perimeter was not beveled) and the lock well was further forward. It only was made for a few years. Yours is "2nd Generation", but so are the ones currently being produced.
