Whew, been dodging tornados and heavy winded storms since 2pm yesterday. We made it through just fine, but it got pretty hairy a few times. Smoke and prayers to the 85 folk's families that didn't fair too well.

I talked to Ethan yesterday, and he's been pretty land, wood and a Becker Outhouse for the folks that will be coming to join us at the Gathering, so, preparation is underway.

I wish all of ya'll could make it, but I understand.

Thought I was gonna have to use my BKT's to dig out of the rubble last night , but I didn't :D

I am glad I had emergency bags and provisions setup, made the whole affair, more, um, palatable, I guess.

Moose

Glad you and yours made it through all right. Stay safe brother.

Woke up to read about the devastation in Tuscaloosa. Goodness, the University Mall appears to be gone.
There is some crazy, scary footage floating around on the web. Don't people know to go inside?

Moose, glad you're okay. You rode it out in your hammock, right? Tell Ethan to throw some gold plating on that throne.

Good to see you're safe. We've been having a few tornadoes ourselves. Had one 10 miles to the south that destroyed homes, etc. Again, good to know you and your family are safe.

I don't remember a spring like this before. Tonados and strong storms all over the place, and it's every day. We had to stop sandbagging against the biggest flood on record because there was another tornado warning. Dodging golfball sized hail to fill sandbags. This is crazy.

Glad to hear ya'll are ok.

We're getting warnings just about everyday too.

Crazy rain and wind, but nothing touched down yet. Dew point 68 this a.m. (it's still April !)

I truely believe, that being on the east side of the mountains here, is saving our butts.

Stay safe.

Good to hear you made it, and my prayers for those who were hit harder. Scary stuff.

Maybe you need to build like the old Russians. A log cabin sunk underground, with just a low roof and a stairway above for access!

Good to hear you and yours are okay. Mother Nature can be a real bitch sometimes. Hope the worst of it has passed.

Good luck out there, man.

While I fully support the 'prepper' lifestyle - it is always scary when you need to use some of that stuff.

Glad to hear you made it through. AL definitely looks like it got hit hard.

Glad to hear you are well. I lived in TX and it could get very scary at times. Glad I live up north now. I'll take constant snow over spinning winds any time.

We've been having rain here in northern New Jersey lately. Thunderstorms predicted today. Two hours ago, I checked the report and  we were on a tornado watch in this area, with my town on the list by name. Not fun to think about.

We had some rain, no real storms, no heavy cloud patterns, and I haven't heard anything else about tornadoes. I'm almost afraid to turn on the radio and see if anyplace around here did get hit.

Glad to hear your ok Moose. I had 4 twisters within 15 miles of home one night this month also. Sure makes it a little easier to bear when you've got the necessities tucked away safe.

Glad to hear you and your family are okay....
bummer about not using the BK's to do some chopping ;)

It's been a crazy April. 800 tornadoes nationwide this month, so far. My cousin was driving in Arkansas a few days ago, during one of the bad storms. He and a couple of other truckers were running together pretty hard that night, trying to get past the front moving in. They rounded a bend in the road and DROVE STRAIGHT INTO A TORNADO!! He watched the truck in front of him get flipped completely over. He locked it up, shut down the motor, grabbed his cell and had one foot in the sleeper when the the tornado hit his truck. He got lucky. He was loaded heavy and the tornado moved his truck across the road about 10 feet. The guy behind said that he could see that all the wheels were off the ground but it dropped right back down.

He called his wife afterwards and started the conversation with "Mama, grab on to your panties, wait till you hear this one."

I had no idea of the carnage until I had a chance to check out CNN. I'm glad that your family was safe Moose.

Glad to know that you and your's are safe, and the Ethan and his are safe also. I can't imagine being in a store like that.
