Here is a bad pic of two I am working on. Sorry, but I have been out of town and have been to lazy to figure out how to load up the software for my Sony camera into my new Imac, so this was taken with the webcma as you can tell..lol. They haven't been heat treated yet and I an just getting the fixtures roughed out. Any comments?
W2 "pilot's knife" 6 1/4 blade NS fittings, African blackwood handle
5160 spear point 6 3/4 blade, NS guard, old growth Brazilian rosewood handle

They both look very nice, Joe, and I look forward to seeing a decent foto of the completed work!

You're wearin' a freakin' Izod shirt, though!!!! "They" (Anvil Police) are going to come and take your hammer away you advertise that too much :D

i used a simplified version of the Don Fogg hand sanding setup to do a little resanding and it worked GREAT. I just wrapped a piece of 2 inch 220 grit shop roll around a 12 x 3/4 x 1/4 brass bar and went to town. Both are as flat as a pancake and all of the little divets and grind marks up near the plunge cuts that you can't get to with your fingers went bye-bye in less than 10 minutes:thumbup:

It gets worse.....I have 3 Turnbull and Asser shirts that I bought in London and plan to buy more in New York over New Years......I also drive German cars and have never owned a truck or SUV:eek: But I do have a Brit bike, so that is only half bad:D And I am wearing straight cut Wranglers from Target with the Izod:thumbup: Thanks for the compliment. The little spearpoint was a "pound puppy rescue" It was originally going to be a full tang, but i just couldn't get the damn tang flat...it was pounded out from round bar.....so i cut it off and forged out the hidden tang and the universe was saved once again.....lol The other one is the second knife in a row made from Don Hanson's W2 that turned out damn near perfect (for someone of my experience and skill level) from the get go. Truly magic steel...lol. The screw on butt cap is a PITA. I may switch that out for one with a nut with a lanyard hole like Karl's knives now that I have my mini-lathe and some 1/2 round NS rods.

I like the shape of the blades and the handles, look good so far. Show some more pictures as you progress

OY! the spear point died in a tragic stamping accident. It will be missed. The other three passengers survived relatively unharmed:p
