I'm thinking about getting a Rough Rider Electrician as a gift for someone, but I'm wondering how hard it is to open and close. My Rough Rider lockbacks are fairly easy, but I have a liner lock sodbuster-type knife, and it's pretty tough.

I have 2 Rough Riders. One Canoe Lockback which is very easy to open and one Barlow which is very hard to open. So my experience is 50/50.

I haven't tired the Electrician though so not sure about that one.

I have a RR Electrician, and it's certainly NOT a nailbreaker. If a SAK is a 5, my Electrician is probably a 6 or 7 for opening. If I have the screwdriver blade open with the liner lock engaged, it takes me a minute to get it closed, not because it's difficult, but because I'm clumsy or haven't had enough liner lock practice. :o
I think it's a great knife!
