Rough Rider Knife Blade too tight

Just purchased my second Rough Rider pocket knife - a Barlow. But it is really hard to open and move the blades, unlike my first Canoe Rough Rider. Any ideas on how to make them move more freely?

Before trying anything rambunctious, a good place to start is to make sure there is no gunky leftover from the manufacturing process. If the RR were mine with its stainless blades, I would try
washing it with soap and water,
then rinse with rubbing alcohol,
then rinse with WD-40.
During each operation, open and close the blades multiple times. (Be careful when you get to the WD-40 part.)
I would likely end up with mineral oil.
Then I would reevaluate it.

^ My sentiments exactly ^

I do this with any hard to open knife or any knife that seems to have a "lazy spring". A lot of people just return the knife or send it in for "repair" which can take forever and a lot of times is just unnecessary.

Wrap the blade in tolet paper or tissue to protect your hand from the sharp edge
Hold the blade by the paper and open and close repeatedly
