Could some one please tell me wher is the Rough Rider fatory in China. Have they ever been manufatured under another name. Who distributes then in Australia. Do they have a web site. Whats your opinion of them.
Thanks Kindly.............

Not positive, but I think the factory is in China. Don't know about Australian distributors. My opinion is that they WAY outshine other cheap ass pocketknives, but don't compare to the quality brands. I've given a few away as gifts to non-knife people. They are always amazed at the handle materials, and since they don't recognize the brand, they think I spent a mint.

My brother bought one and its actually a piece of cr@p. Sorry. and yeah its made in china

You can find Australian sellers on the Australian e-bay site. There is one from Tasmania that is reliable and has low shipping charges.

I bought 3 of them out of curiosity. The first was a fixed blade in a clip on style sheath and black handle. I wasn't impressed. I found it hard to get a decent edge and the sheath was badly designed. The blade was too thick to do much with even if it was sharp. It now lives in my garden shed where it suffers from abuse, being used for all of those things you shouldn't use a knife for. It cost me three bucks at auction so I couldn't really complain.

The other 2 were bone handled stockman style knives - one four bladed and the other three bladed. To be honest I thought they were good value at less than 10 bucks each at auction. Blades were thin, opened smoothly and easily took a shaving edge. The appear to be well finished. Edge retention is ok for light duty tasks. I gave them away to friends who are not really knife people and they liked them.

I wouldn't buy any more myself as they are not really of interest to me now curiosity is satisfied. If you want a cheap knife for casual use, they represent quite good value. Personally I would spend a little more and buy something worth hanging on to.
