what do you think of rough riders and do you own one? or many? post some pics of the ones you have(i would post pics but don't have the capability on my pos computer right now). if you have a good story or memory with or of one tell it.

they offer pretty good quality at a very affordable price point, lotsa patterns, lotsa scale options:thumbup: My son has a few all came with excellent fit and finish and razor sharp... definitely a good bargain and better quality than alot of the older colonials ive handled...
a cool way to try out hard to find patterns for little money.
My son has…
a bone handled Canoe
A small tortoise sunfish
A Wood handled Lockback
And a Three bladed jack w/redbone (match striker pulls and 3 backsprings, its a tank!)
cheers

I have a few and find them excellent value for money. I'm carrying their small linerlock sodbuster today. There are better knives, but I have not found any better cheap knives. You can give them away on a whim, and the recipient will get a decent knife, perhaps not up to knife knut standards, but certainly good enough for the daily needs of most.

Rough Rider also offers an astounding range of patterns. You can cheaply try out a design that you may be a little dubious of. I especially like the linerlock sodbusters and the small double lockback.

Low costing, but good knives.

I recently bought a large Congress in their "Tobacco bone" and it's amazing. All 4 blades razor sharp, strong snap and no play on any blades, and the Tobacco bone with acorn shield looks great.

I have many of the sod busters and trappers, and all are great sharp and tight. A true bargin. Check out SMKW for them or Ebay.

Hi,

I'll agree, RR's are a great bang for the buck. And I too like the seemingly unending variety of patterns. They might not be the fanciest or most historic brand, but they are good solid user tools.

In fact, I'm sitting here admiring my just received small Rough Rider San Mai lockback. Pretty impressive knife. Now if they would make a small Trapper, Barlow, Canoe, and maybe a Peanut with the San-Mai.

In my experience, most are really convincing and they all offer an attractive quality/price ratio.

i just got the copperhead tobacco bone with the acorn shield and it is certainly eye candy in my opinion.
