I'm not a fan of anything made in China, but these keep catching my eye. Anyone have any experience with this knife?

Thanks

Generally well-made knives for the price, but have heard poor reports about this particular model.

I got a white bone one a few years ago to try skrimshaw. I didn't find anything wrong with it for the price. It gets sharp, I've used the marlin spike to break up bags of ice a few times, and it held up fine.

Just to show off my amateur work:

R8shell, that's cool artwork. I love a good scrimshaw. I'd like to see how you did it.

Thanks. I'm hardly an expert. :o I just use a pin to scratch the drawing, and then wipe ink into the lines. I might start a thread to see if anyone else has any skrimshaw to show. Here's another one I did. Those white bone Rough Riders are great for trying things like this. I like how it turned out, but I sure wouldn't want to risk messing up an expensive knife.

Great work  I think I'd probably just end up with a pile of messed-up Rough Riders unfortunately :(

Been thinking about one of these in Old Yellow myself, never been really disappointed with RR and often extremely pleased.

I've got one of their Barlows in white-bone that was Scrimed by trader on the Bay, very nice job too.

Be interesting to have a Scrim and Scratting thread as this is very Old School, more skill than I'll ever have, sigh!
