Yes they are. They are believed to be T10 steel, which is similar to 1095. If you do a search for "rough rider" you'll find a thread that has lots of information.
 
yes their high carbon, they have been making coated ti-nitride slippies for several years now in addition to the newer traditional hc line.

This is one of the new carbon steel blade knives . According to the site they are using T10 carbon steel which I believe is a water hardened tool steel .
 
I have that knife, but haven’t used it enough to see if it will take a patina. In fact, I have yet to see patina on a RR. A quick browse through the Patina thread didn’t disclose any, but I could have missed one or more.

Has anybody got patina on a RR?

I don't have one but I've seen them with patina.

I'm gonna buy one sometime later this year or so probably. So I'll see for sure then.
