How do you get a point back after rounding it with work sharp I just can't get this sharpening down

Practice practice practice, I have done the same thing to a few of my knives, I use a rubber sanding block and 220 sanding paper and carfully work the tip back to its proper shape, I am finally getting to where i dont round the tip anymore at all, but thats how I was fixing it.

What knife did ya round the tip on and how bad is it? A lot of poeple seem to like the worksharps. I personally do not. There is no substitute for taking your time and learning something correctly then mastering the skill over time and practice. IMO. Anyway. Its hard to give you advice without seeing the damage. Any pics?

Well, you will never get a tip back working from the edge. You gotta take material off the spine behind the tip to get a point back.

That's how I put a tip back on my 7 after the pointiest part of the point snapped off. I sanded down along the spine of the swedge until a point reemerged.

Yep, I did the same thing. Take off the guides from the worksharp, and take off a bit from the spine using the worksharp. Grind it down a bit until the point is back.

Ok did a little work on it tonight getting better got the powder coat off and a resemblance of a point
I'll keep workin on it. Also if I get the finish to a polish will it still do a patina

Love this forum! I always learn stuff, such as how to get a tip back on a knife. I would have never known to work from the spine rather than the edge! Good luck PWR!

Thanks guys Its a long process I have to do it in between taking care of my 4 month old and my wife
