Rounded Pommel or Pointed?

I have the pointed pommel on my 5. I was going to get a 3, is there a preference on the rounded pommels over the pointed? Maybe for tapping with a hammer or stick with more ease than flattening a point with each hit?

Look forward to your feedback, thanks!

i have the rounded pommel and like it. it doesnt dig into my hand when i hold back on the handle.

+1 to that. I don't see an advantage to the pointed pommel unless it's a "sharpened" one lite the -MIL. :o

I like the Sharpened pommel because you never know when you need to break glass out in the woods.;)

I just ground a rounded pommel on one of my 3's that had the pointed. Way better feel for me and not digging in the palm. Get the rounded ( ie. modified) pommel unless you plan to break a bunch of windows or use it as an impact tool.

you could always get the pointed one for now and modify it later. if you don't like the point, follow hiwa and round it off...but if you like the point then you could shave a little on each side to try to give it a point like the 3-Mil.

If you have a pointed pommel and don't like it, you could always order a pair of Dale's (The-Knife-Connection) scales for it, don't they extend the handle a bit and cover up the pommel? :)
