Hi All,

Looking for recomendations on any high quality folders that have a rounded blade spine. (I like to push on the back of the spine when wood working and a rounded spine is a lot easier on the ol' thumb ;)
Mainly interested in the frame locks, but other suggestions are welcome.
I'm aware of the Sebenza, have one and love it, but wondering if there are others.

Pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

B

You know, not enough knives have that feature (I assume you are not talking about an area to nest the thumb against, but a true rounded spine).

I don't recall ever owning a knife like that.

Thanks for the help All.

I may have not been specific enough in my original description.
What I am referring too is on the back side of the blade, most folders have a standard blocked or flat spine meaning if you rest your thumb on the spine of the blade, it is a flat surface your thumb rests on.

The Sebenza does not have a blocked spine but it is rounded, and when your thumb rests on the spine, it is resting on a rounded surface.

A good mental picture might be If you are holding your pen in you hand, and you lay your thumb accross the back of the pen, it is rounded, and not flat.

Thanks

Would you consider the spine of the Calypso Jr. to meet this requirement? Or is it more pointy?

Well, the spine of the Buck Mayo Ti (172) is perfectly round. From memory, I would even say it is pretty much a perfect semicircle. Feels very nice. And high quality is a check, too.

Very spendy but my Chris Reeve sebenza w/ micarta inlay has a rounded spine. Have you ever thought of taking a knife to a grinding belt or wheel?
