Recommendation? Rounding Hammers

Greetings trusted knowledge base. I have been thinking about upgrading my standard small sledge with a quality rounding hammer. The problem is I'm not sure where to look for something decent. I've looked around online, but my search seems to be running in circles. My only requirement is that I would like a hammer in the 3.5 to 4 pound range. If anyone has any recommendations, or if you make them yourself, I would appreciate any info you can provide.

Thanks,
Travis

are there local blacksmiths groups near you? that's how i found the hammersmith (i guess?) who i get hammers from.

Buy a 3-4 pound sledge hammer and grind it down to a rounding hammer. My go-to all around forging hammer started as an old 4 lb sledge hammer that I re-shaped into a rounding hammer head on one side and a flat face on the other.

I have done what weo did. Get some lower price hammer/sledge (yard sales are great) and reshape it as needed on the grinder. You can cut down a larger sledge on the bandsaw, too.
Look for the heads only on eBay and flea markets, as they are often only a few bucks.

I bought a Nordic rounding hammer. Cheap enough to try out and see if you like it.

I've got 2, 1 is a 4lb sledge that I modified, the other is a 1 1/2lb one that I bought from Blacksmith Depot.

I like vaughan ball peen hammers
Grind and shape and dress them to your liking

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure which route I want to pursue yet, but I have lots to think about now.
