A long time ago I had a Rowe behind the back sheath for a NOE, which was a very comfortable way to carry that knife. I got interested in this design for my MO HG55. Called the shop and hooked up with Cody Rowe. Below are the finished products.

Cody was a complete gentleman to do business with, and Im very happy with the sheaths. No retention straps, friction fit. I asked Cody to add the throat leather to guide the knife into the sheath a little, (so I dont cut my tshirt). With the knife behind you there is room to carry a handgun on either side. Its easy to forget you have the meaner on with this setup.

The HG55 is right hand draw, the meaner is left hand draw. The cowboy style for the BAIII I had made quite a while back, found it it fits my meaner street as well:D

Some really nice work there.
It amazes me how many different ways there
are to make a knife sheath.
Boggles my meager mind.
Thanks for sharing.

Those are some really cool sheaths!
Congrats!!

So... do you carry 2 knives behind your back and 2 guns on your hips? :D

I can just see the double draw! :D

Great stuff... thanks for sharing!

Thank you! You just reminded me ... I'm supposed to call Cody to pick up a few myself.

I bought a few sheaths from the Rowes at BLADE this year. Very nice work and even nicer people to talk and deal with. Both gentlemen took time to discuss what I wanted in my sheaths and helped me find just what I wanted.

Some questions I've always had about behind the back carry, whether it was pistol or knife. How does it do when you sit down? Does the handle jab you? Does the blade end yank your pants up from hitting the seat? What about if you fall on your back? Are you gonna get your kidneys bruised (remember from my younger days getting kidney punched and wizzing blood for a few days:mad:)

At any rate, your sheaths are really great works.

Thanks

I appreciate the kind comments gentlemen.

G19G26 - I had the same questions, I was surprised at how comfortable this method of carry is, (for me). I imagine different builds might experience different issues, but, ..... sitting in the house or in the car causes no discomfort. It does help to have your shirt between you and the knife handle though, which blows concealment unless you have a second shirt. In warmer weather I carry a handgun this way too and for me it works. The blade portion does not push up your belt in the back, and yes, the knife handle slabs are near your kidneys, Im old enough and heavy enough now that if I go down, its gonna hurt no matter what.;)

With these sheaths the knives conceal well even under just a tshirt. Just thought I'd throw them out for you gentlemen in case this style might work for you. Enjoy:D

I have a few strong side pancake sheaths from Cody and they are top notch. I like the addition of the throat on yours.
