Roy and Owen's Baker, Oregon Knife?

I found this knife recently at an estate sale. It has the look of an old hickory high carbon steel type of knife. I'm guessing it's pretty old, but not sure if it could go back to the 1800's. There are no markings on the blade, but the handle has "Roy and Owen's 10th and Broadway Baker, Oregon". I'm not sure if this was the knife maker or if it was an advertising piece with the name of the retailer on it.

I don't think there is a "Baker" Oregon, just "Baker City". I checked the wiki and it's been called Baker City since the 1800's with no mention of ever just being "Baker". Seems a bit odd. Closest thing I could find to Roy and Owen's was a Tire Factory in Ontario, Oregon, which isn't that far from Baker City. That operated in the 1970's, so it doesn't seem like it's related.

Does anyone know if Roy and Owen's was a knife maker or a retailer of some type?

Roy and Owens "Associated" Gas Station on the corner of 10th and Broadway in Baker City, Oregon evolved into a tire business and moved.

My guess is the knife was a "gimmee" and bestowed on customers for filling a tank of some other "Special Deal". There's a chance they had a promotion to collect a whole set, those were popular in the 1960"s.

I looked up Baker city and the city was dropped in 1911 and added back on in 1989.

Thanks for the information! Does it likely date from the 1950's or 60's? I would have guessed older, but I'm new to this.
