Heres a couple of links I found for Nepalese battalion flags that include symbols of moon, sun etc. The moon ones resemble some armoury marks & chos. And many old kuks also have the sun symbol.

I find it interesting all the units are preceded Shree the same marking that occurs on some of the long leafs from Atlanta.

The Gurkha Museum has a wonderful large format book with all the NA flags from the oldest to the newest. Both front and back are shown along with a complete history. Wish I could have taken that one with me, but I did get some good copies of units I thought might be attached to the inscriptions we have seen on the AC lango patas.
