Dear Members,

I just wanted to remind all who are interested the Royce Gracie/Ken Shamrock fight is tonight: Friday, February 19 on Spike TV. The best thing to do is to check your local guide for times because I don't want to give you the wrong time from my time zone.

I watched Royce train here every day for the last 3 months and he is as ready as anyone I've ever seen preparing for a fight. His standing pulse rate really is 35 BPM and his skills, timing and endurance are better than a 25 year old. Believe me I've seen him beat the heck out of a bunch of them over the last 3 months. This should be a good fight. Go Royce!

Best,

Ernest

Man too bad I don't have cable, there's got to be a way to watch it via Internet, I hope. Sounds like a great fight, yeah, go Royce!!

Two of the all time greats! I've been seeing the ads on tv, should be a great fight!

Shamrock with complaints...there's a shocker.

Anyone get a good look at the knee? I tried a couple times on YouTube and seemed to hit just below the belt line of his shorts, but north of the boys.

In other news, I've always loved that takedown Royce used.

Royce's knee did land under the belt line but to the left of the cup. Regardless I think it just saved Ken a few minutes before his eventual defeat.

To me the Ken I saw in the ring was the same Ken that faced Tito Ortiz three times (and lost each time), and Rich Franklin (and lost), and Sakuraba (and lost). And as Royce stated he didn't stop the fight, the ref did, the ref didn't call the knee the fight goes on.

Or my favorite, "We come from the beginning. There was no gloves, no rules, no time limit, no weight division." Shrugs shoulders.

I did not watch the Royce fight, but did watch a match before between a white fighter, and a black fighter. The black fighter had dyed blonde hair. Honestly this was my first time for an MMA Event. Mike Tyson was a guest commentator, like always he was funny.

When the fight was over the white guy had won and it amazed me the he had true Cauliflower ears that to look at made me have chills down my spine. I am not sure what I witnessed but it way a lot of wrestling for position during the first round, were nothing seem to be happening. The second roud was the last with a TKO for a victory by the wihte fighter. I do hope these guy make some good money for taking all that punishment.

Now you might flame me for my next observation, but I like WWE Wrestling better. It is more entreating, and yes I know it is mostly fake, like roller derby use to be in L.A. is the 60’s. But the WWE, TNS and other Professional Wrestler do have talent, some are very acrobatic. Plus many of the injuries are real, and leave them battered up for life.

Honestly, I think Mr. Emerson would have rocked the night inside the ring against either Kimbo or Shamrock, and would have made the crowd roar! The video of him working out after his surgery looks ten times better than the fight I saw Friday night.

I recall many years ago in the late 70's or was it the early 80's about 30 people crammed into an apartment to watch one of the first pay for view fights. The fight lasted under a minute. I remember it was in Las Vegas.

Honestly we were all disappointed as we had all chipped in to buy the pay for view. Forget who the fighter were. But the famous Don King was involved, and almost immedeatly started talking rematch.

That under a minute foly was a big disappointment.
