This knife was recommended to me and I just wanted to see if anyone was familiar with it. I'm considering it as an EDC.

Thanks,
Clay

From what I've read, it is a pretty high quality knife, but too expensive. Still, I'd like to have one. ;) :) But, then again, I want EVERY high quality knife in existence. :)

I have one, and carry it when out hiking and other related activities. It is a beautifully-made, stout scout knife. The main reason I bought mine was for the 154cm main blade, a steel that is just not found on any other production scout knives that I'm aware of.

It is very heavy for its size, a comparable SAK being probably half the weight, but the quality is outstanding (it better be for nearly $100). I also find the ebony Rucarta handles to be quite durable as well as attractive. I would highly recommend it :D

I can't comment on this specific knife, but I have two other A. G. folders. Both are very high quality. Great fit and finish and top notch materials. Russell makes good stuff from what I have seen.

I wasn't familiar with this knife, so I went and had a look over at the AG Russel site. Wow! Looks very nice, I'd love to have one. I can see how weight could be a concern, though. If this is true for you, Clay, I'd recommend one of the Victorinox Pioneer models:

Pioneer

Pioneer with saw

They're light, strong and well made. I have several Pioneers, and they have all served me well.
