I've read some old reviews that were displeased with Boker's execution of the Nealy design: primarily that the sheath was not secure enough. I was wondering what people thought of the custom Nealy knives, specifically the Pesh Kabz (I'm looking at the one with the 3" blade). Good knives, sheathes, etc?

Here's a pic to drool over (for those that haven't seen one):

BTW, how the heck do you actually pronounce "Pesh Kabz?"

I have a custom larger Pesh Kabz with engraved bolster [engraving arranged through Bud] exotic wood scales and D Meier San Mai damascus blade. I love the knife.
It is the best concealed carry personal defence knife I have with the best Multi Carry System sheath, with the possible exception of my Polkowski's. The Nealy is a very, very slim knife, which you may or not like. But that does make it very easy and comfortable to carry in a broad range of positions. The blade is superb, a stainless damascus sandwhiching 52100.I don't have experience with the other steel options. I wouldn't choose the same soft wood for the scales again, but I was looking for something exotic.
The MCS system is really excellent. Perfect fit, tremendous range of carry options and absolute confidence in every position, including inverted carry.

I have a 5" Nealy Pesh Kabz with black G-10 scales. The fit and finish of Bud's knives are absolutely flawless. I have seen Bud at quite a few knife shows and he always has a ton of knives with him, I have yet to see one with a single flaw. It is easily the best knife for concealed carry due to it's slim profile. I got mine from Larry at BladeArt. My only complaint about the sheath is that it is too "square" for front in waistband carry. It worked but was a little uncomfortable so I used a Dremmel and cut and sanded off the corners. It is now the most comfortable carry FB I have ever worn. I highly recommend Bud's work. You will love it.

Michael Janich did a review of the Boker variety of Nealy's work in a fairly recent TK issue. He acknowledged that he's been carrying a custom version for something like 5 years. His review was pretty positive, tho don't see him making too many critical judgements. There is no doubt he's sold on Nealy's designs. He might too have used that "best" word.

Hello
The Nealys are doubtlessly very good knives for concelaed carry and Bud is surely a trend setter with this style.
I have a customer who has 3 of them one of wich is a large Pesh kabz, and this is his preferred, and this guy is very knowledgeable in knife fighting and has a bunch af knives to choose from.
I have a 5" tanto with stainless bolsters and stag handles that is a very nice knife but has a few flaws, like the grind being uneven and assimetricl and the dovetailed bolster not fitting the scales, besides those horrible scuffs from the kydex sheath, but I like the piece and intend to keep it (unless I get a Pesh Kabz) as I like Bud's concepts. Not flawless, though.
Regarding the Boker, I have seen and had a few and quality varied a bit. the last one I saw was very poor, both knife and sheath, and lacked adjustment as if the parts were just put togheter with a screwdriver.

Pesh cobs is how it is pronounced.

I had one, but the thin handles were too slick for me. Also, the edges are a fuzz thick to have such a thin blade - kinda tough, though. I like my Kinzhal II with the grippy G10 handles better for use.
