I just got one with my new Jones Brothers JK-23 Combat/Survival knife. The one that I have is the EOD Mod2. It is awesome in every way. Retention without the safety snap, which is removable, is very good it holds the blade very tight and secure with no chance of the blade falling out. I just carried this knife in the Mod2 for 4 days inverted on the oposite side of my Survival Sheath Systems tomahawk harness by way of some paracord. The knife clicks into place when put away and when needed it comes out very quietly. The only reason I would see use of the retention strap/snap is if one would be jumping out of aircraft, diving or any extream physical activity. The sheath fits that good. The pouch on the front holds a lot of items and is very well made.
I am very much impressed with it.
