Is the Ritter RSK M1 or mini better than the regular Griptilian or the mini grip? Or is it just a matter of preference in blade shape and steel?

If one is better than the other why?

Same knife, different blade. The ritter is designed to be a more survival oriented knife. Its got the sebenza blade shape but not grind (sebenza is hollow, ritter is high flat ground).

If you are considering which one to get, my personal suggestion is to get the 154cm version mini. But Im crazy and I like 154cm (not as much as s30v, but I dont like s30v more enough to warrant the difference in price. If I was going for a ritter it would be to put it in wilkins grips). The only thing I wish was different was that damn swedge.

Thanks for the info The price difference is definitely what I was noticing and didn't think that the S30V was that much better than the 154cm.

depends on your application.

like I said if I was going for a "grip" then I would go 154cm. If I wanted to build a knife with wilkins grips I would go with the ritter blade.

I would not at all suggest that owners of ritter grips wasted their money, far from it, I would just personally opt for the 154cm blade.

Overall quality wise, they may be the same, but I do like the Ritter blade enough more to carry them much more than I do my regular Grips'.

Ok I'm the disenter here, I say get the cabelas special edition in D2 tool steel. Avaliabel in both OD green and black SE and PE all baldes are coated in BK1 for corrision resistance and IMO are a tad bit better than the ritters. I love S30V but have a thing for D2 and its only $99.

The regular Griptilian is a very good knife, but I was willing to spend more for the better steel. I'll admit though that I mostly bought the Ritter because I love the blade shape.

My 555HG mini grip has seen the most use and pocket carry out of any of my mini grips. But this is mostly because I love the hollow ground blade, nothing else I have compares in terms of perceived sharpness.

The blade shape on the mini Ritter is very nice though. So is the high grind.

I had the Cabelas D2 version too, but I just couldn't get over the coated blade. Not a huge fan.
