anyone got both that they can do a side by side comparison with pics for me (length and spine thickness)? Is the bk12 worth the $130 when a bk7 seems like i can to the same work? Thanks guys

I've got both and I have used both. the BK12 just starting this week cause I sent my Bk 10 to the cayman's for a holiday. I've been using the 12 on ethans july challenge and have used the 7 a bunch when I had one. Now it's a BK77 and I might be able to put up pic's later with the 12.

I'd say the 12 was worth the money for me but the 7 is much better bang for the buck. get both

I would say the 12 is worth the money

I like the spearpoint blade better than the swedged end of the 7

im thinking ill only be able to afford one, esp if i go with a mk2. where does the mk2 stand out above the 7?

Now that I have the 2 I find the 7s swedge tears up my baton log and actually renders it ineffective after a time. On my smaller task knife I've been using my Blackbird SK5 and have really been digging spear point blades. The only reason I haven't bought the 12 was I can't justify it's price tag, especially with shipping to Canada, and customs fees. As an owner and avid lover of the 7 I'd still recommend getting the 12. But also would recommend getting both. Odd how many times these threads come up and end with a final recommendation of getting both. But seriously the 12 is likely a better knife.

Im sure they both are great, but my problem is I can pick one, and since I got the 10, is the 12 worth getting at this point in time or just a 7. Clock your right tho, the advice is always "get both" so ill roll with that and rephrase so ask which first?

Not sure how many more 12's will be produced

you know you will always be able to get a 7 either Camillus or Kabar but a Ritter 12 might be harder to come by

just sayin

It's a popular knife (12), Seems like it'll be around, but who knows. There isn't a world of difference between the 10 and the 12 so I say get the 7 some Micarta and a texas hunt sheath for about the same cash.

Hell, I'll loan you my new 7 when it gets here if you wanna play with it for a couple weeks.

I might have to take you up on that Oregon. Ill even do I nice review full of nice pics. Hell if the times match up I can do a side by side with the bk5 passaround

I'm looking at the bk7 and mk2 too and couldn't seem to find if you ever picked one or got both. If you got both, did anything stand out about the ritter knife that made the price difference seem worthwhile?

I've played with a 7 and have a 12.
I like the drop point more than the straight clip -- for the way i use knives.
YMMV.

I dont have either, but I would get the 12 first since it is harder to come bye.

I'm in the same boat as Psyop, I don't have either, but if I were making the same choice it would be the 12, based on nothing but rarity and the chance that it'll go away sometime in the future.

But, if I were to go into the knife itself, not just the rarity, the 7 is more my style, no pretty looking spear/deep drop point, no questionable brass weights messing with any after market handles, and more money to spend on other Beckers! Now, all that I just said goes out the window if the 12 might start going away.

They are both really good knives, I think it just comes down to what tip style you like best. I am fine with either one so I have both and use both. I think you get a lot more bang for the buck out of the BK7 though.
