Hi Guys,
Here's a few Brand New (NIB) recurve choppers that I just finished up. Both are 3/16" thick 1095 56-58 RC, have a full flat grind, Extended Pommel, Lanyard hole, and black (RTAK) and green (RAT 7) linen and canvas Micarta ergonomic handle slabs (for increase grip when wet).
Here are my modifications:
Removed the black coating
Changed the straight designs into Recurves!
Reprofiled the edges. These knives are now slicers and choppers.
Sharpened the top false edge.
Added beveled finger choils (this REALLY improved the usefullness!).
Added thumb notches.
Added serrations top and bottom. I left the top ones back far enough to have a short but useful plain cutting edge in front, for doing small delicate tasks (like cleaning fish, etc).
Broke all sharp edges (except the two that count!) and removed all "hot spots"
Bead blasted, thinned and sculpted the grips for better retention, control and comfort.
Satin finished entire knife.
Added a lanyard.
Both include a brand new heavy duty nylon sheath, with large utility pouch,
The recurve shape really adds to the usefullness and chopping ability of these knives. I was VERY careful while grinding the blades to preserve the original factory heat treat.
RTAK: $175.00 SOLD!
RAT 7: $145.00
Paypal, or money order. No fees!
USPS Priority Mail Shipping in Conus is $14.00 for the RTAK and $12.00 for the RAT 7. All others pay actual shipping. Knives will be insured for the sale price, and they will also include delivery confirmation and tracking. I will email you the tracking number as soon as your knife ships.
Questions and paypal to magua1@midmaine.com
First I'll take it post here gets it.
Thank you very much.
