Young Man,
While we did not do business this time because I chose to go a less expensive route with my less expensive RTAK II that I'm going to throw behind the seat of my truck .... you and I will most certainly do business once the new scales are on my old SRKW Battle Rat and once I get word from Erik that my new Waki is ready to ship. I've got a Miltner Adams M2-II I want to piggy back on the BR sheath.
Judging from the pictures on your blog, you do good work. And it was a damn honorable thing you did to mention Martin Swinkels in the process.
If you will, when you have the time, please give some thought to a sheath for the Waki that'll have a detachable/comfortable cross sling, plus a quiet non-rattling way to remove the sling and attach it using molle straps or malice clips to the side of a ruck. Quick releases of some sort maybe for the sling strap? Plus I have to have some way to secure under the fender or my saddle. When slung across my back while I'm humping ruckless, I want it to ride behind my head and low, rather than off over my shoulder at a 45 degree angle like most are pictured. Maybe a way to adjust both angle of hang and height of hang ... multiple attachment points on the sheath maybe? (I know it sounds samurai style and I hate that because the last thing I am is ninja or tacticool, too old for that, but it's what I want for where I am goig with it.) The molle straps I've got if you might figure some sure fire long lasting sturdy way to wrap horizontal straps all the way around the sheath in the proper spacing? Looking at your work in the pictures, I figure you've probably already got some ideas running through your head by the time you finish reading this. I'm hoping to get the BR back in the next couple of weeks and the waki, well, you know Swamp Rat ... I'll get it when I get it but it'll be worth waiting for once I do.
We may speak by phone if your up to it within a couple of weeks. There is no telling when I'll get the good news on the Waki but when I do .... well, you've already got one right?
