Been lurking in the shadows here for a bit and thought Id share my RTAK mod that Ive set up for anything from bushwalking, road trips, fishing and wandering away from camp. Itsnothing too drastic but just enough for the absolute bare essentials. When bushwalking or anything else more remote than wandering from camp I always have at least a Camelback with first aid and other bits dependant on terrain anyway. What do you reckon:

I got rid of the serrations to make a more fine blade/draw knife and piggy backed it with a CS mini pendleton with a fob constructed from 5m of 2mm nylon cord. Its wrapped with about 10m of para and has 10m of 2mm nylon in the pouch with a tube of all weather matches and a lighter. Ive got a small pouch that rides on the belt with first aid stuff on it when required.

When did you decide those serrations were too much of a pain?

Maybe not so much of a pain but just didnt see the point of them on aknife like the RTAK when I usually carry a Swisstool anyway. IMO a thinner section of blade for more delicate work- especially if youve been chopping and need to cut some lashings etc - was of more value.

Sort of reminds me of the drawknife portion of the Tracker knife. Cool that you made the knife suit your needs better. I don't like serrations either.
