I've recently discovered that I may have a valuable knife and am looking for some info. I bought it in 1977 in Idaho Falls. It has antler handle slabs. It is marked "R. H. Ruana Bonner Montana" on the right side with a "M" mark also (What does this mark mean?). The blade is ~5" and is curved sort of like a scimitar.

On the back of the sheath is hand written "19B." (Could this be a model number?)

Any info., and approx. value would be appreciated. The knife is almost unused. Thanks.

I have no ideea, but try to post the message to "The Bernard Levine Knife Collecting and Identification Forum". Welcome to the forums!

If I'm not mistaken, the "M" was used to signify what type of steel he used.

Gyrfalcon,

The M stamp was Used from 1962-1983. 1962 is when Ruana first started using 1095 High Carbon spring steel.

The 19B is the model #. It is known as a full skinner and by the way is discontinued which to serious Ruana collectors would make it even more desirable.
