I´m thinking of buying an exclusive bowie knife. I really love the look of the Randall knives, but since the waiting time is so long i wonder if it´s worth the wait. Also i wan´t to know more about Ruana knives, please tell me more about them.

I am a fan of Ruana Knives. Buy or find the book "The hammer still rings" by Frank Towsley for the best information.

Randall probably has a bigger following or fan base on the forums, and will be probably easier to get reviews.

I have a passion for collecting and using Ruana knives, which led me to this forum, but I find they are rarely discussed here or anywhere on-line in great detail. Most Ruana people I run into are much more subdued about their knives and are just shocked at where prices have gone especially on the pre-84 knives. The prices have pretty much leveled off from what I gather with the exception of the gun shows around my area where the collectors are still asking astronomical prices, but not selling much if at all.

As far as a review goes on a Ruana knife... I use them, I love them, you will never catch me with any other fixed blade knife during hunting season.

I enjoyed buying my Ruana bowie. I can't say the same for the 4-6 I've been waiting 4 years for now, only 300 days more to go.

There is a huge difference in the knives. But I like both of them for what they are.

The current production bowies at gun shows around here don't get super high prices like the older Rudy made knives. In fact at the last show, if I had the $, I could have purchased multiple bowies that day for at or not much more than msrp without the wait time.
