Rubber band sharp

Has anyone ever used or heard of the "Rubber band sharp" method of testing how sharp a blade is?

BTW - I have been scanning the threads for a while now, I appreciate the level of responsibility and common sense used around here. Especially in the direction of impressionable young-uns. (As I speak from my 25 years of wisdom)

The method that magically slices the elastic into several pieces? Nope, never heard of it!

The first knife I tried it on was my MT LCC. I was totally impressed. Very fun way to test knives, but you didn't hear that from me.

Where you loop the rubber band over the blade, stretch it and let it hit the edge? I've tried that, and it worked a couple times. Still can't figure out how it made more than one cut...

Yep, that's it. Somebody had shown me this trick a while back and I hadn't seen or heard any mention of it recently.
