Is anybody else excited about the rubicon 2 they showed off in the shotshow videos? I always liked the look but thought it was too bulky and I couldn't left hand carry. This new model looks like it will be fun. What are your thoughts?

I'm not too excited about it, personally. I wasn't excited about the original Rubicon; at $420+ CAD, I expect a lot more than what the Rubicon seems to offer. You can get carbon fiber and S30V in the Chaparral and Sage 1 for less than a third of the price. It's a low-value blade to me. I don't see how the Rubicon 2 is going to be much less expensive. Maybe $300 CAD at the lowest. I can (and would rather get) a Domino for less.

It's an improvement, IMO but I'm still not interested. I don't like recurve in the blade.

I'm not interested in the Rubicon or the Rubicon 2 specifically, but I am interested in the fact that Spyderco is making budget friendlier models of their high-end collaborations where necessary. I think it's a pretty astute business move too, in terms of inventory management and manufacturing efficiency.

Not really interested. I feel like the original rubicon wasn't very popular and I'm not sure why they chose to come out with a "budget" rubicon. Would have preferred another knife design that's more popular.
