heres some pics before sanding, the dimples on the primary grind on the right side run about one third the way up the blade.

sorry for the flash. in the third pic, notice the grind "gouge", kinda bugs me, i like everything to be even and smooth, even though it will continue to be a user.

hey ban, wanna finish her up?? :)

Man, I was just thinking about how sweet an AK-47 or Ruck would look stripped and polished.

Keep the pics comming as she progresses.

been working on it much of today. im spent, my back hurts, my fingers are all black, and im hungry. i need a grinder or sanding belt to do it right.

i think ill leave it like this for a while.

I'd say you're 'there.'

That last 1% would probably take double the time you've already spent.

You won't ever find me doing that, I can send you a rotary sander if you want :p 80 grit disc really moves the titanium.

Now that you've got the hang of it, how about doing my AK? :D

Hey, looking good! That last shot looks like you have made some serious progress on the flats. I gave up on trying to get the dimples off the flats. I just used the sanding block lengthwise on the primary bevel. That had the benefit of thinning the edge behind the secondary bevel. As you can see in my pics, I quit before I got all the grind lines off the bevel. (Hey, it's a user. :D )

I told you that it was gonna take a long long time by hand ;) The 1/4 sheet hand sander would have made life alot easier. Starting to look good though. I've been there so I feel for you. Give me a holler if you need some help.

loud enough? i thought about the hand sander, but opted for the "cheap" route.

Morimotom: Just though I'd let you know that under the deep, evil, darkness of my AK blade it looks like I have the same issue. ;) But right now it's a non issue with me as it is hard to see.

Sweet job Mark! That thing looks awesome! I might have to get a ruck to go with my ak...like a wakazishi to go with my katana :p
