Came to me today, packaged excellently as always!...

one word review: WOW!
two word review: WOW WOW!

-The grip is fantastic. The thinner profile and length allows for quick and useful movements. She appears like she will draw and carry very rapidly/easily (no sheath yet, but you can really tell). You can easily one hand choke up or down and have great use in both positions, and an 'open hand' loose grip with both hands (will fit both hands) will allow lightning fast strikes and transitions... The total length and blade really do make her accessible. I can totally see this as a user, mountain carry, packing, travel, etc.

The rake and profile maker her an awesome fighter... but her speed is just so noteworthy. Light, swift, and handy.

She is not for sale! She is a keeper!

Next call will be for a sheath (buy brown?)

side note: wife is pregnant, and about 6 weeks ago 4-D "first look" told me we were going to have yet another daughter, but just last week our doctor tells us it is a boy! Our first! A little INFI'nite in the making... now I am so glad i got the Ruck, and an extra DogFather, etc. We are gonna have Eagle Scouts, Indian Guides, Boy Scouts, you name it... WuYeah!:)

RUCK ME????????

RUCK YOU TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow..
talk about extremes.
cool matching combo.. small edc & CHOPPER!

i highly recommend the ruck. but i think i need an ak now.

i think the ruck will be very usable, it is much quicker than i expected.

and the gw is the only other tan i have....

:D

Congrats on the ruck!

I agree totally with your impressions... This one is a keeper. I've just got to decide if i NEED a Ruck and an AK. But if I had to pick one today, it would be the Ruck.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying your rucks.

For me, it just doesnt feel right--the balance is too far forward. If it were a person, it would be a fat guy trying to do ballet.

off to ebay sometime soon

edit: i'll change that to a "probably off to ebay"...it may grow on me ;)

A friend of mine has a similar sized sword his father took from a Japanese tank commander during the accupation of Indonesia in World War II...

The balance is great with that one....

Balance? I was more shallow than that!!! The reason I don't get Ruck be cause it is not blk crankle & blk canvas handle to match my AK!

A rucked up reason not to get a Ruck.

Very cool. That is exactly what I wanted, a very large chopper style blade. It is apparently thicker than the AK so it will have more forward weight than the AK. In fact, my goal is to cut 2 inches off the handle to make it more knife like in it's handle instead of sword like. I will also put a false edge on it for about 5 inches of the 15 inch blade. It will become the largest busse knife.

I was dreaming about this earlier -- about what it would feel like to take off a litttle of the handle :o :D

Where's 'Ducci, he's getting pretty good lately

I'm going to buck this trend. I really like the length of the Ruck handle (based on the last 30 minutes of fondling the one the arrived today). I wish the handles were a little fatter, but I can cope with that. But since some of you seem to think you want something shorter, I took a picture of my Dervish short sword and Ruck to show what a bobtailed handle would look like.

They...
RUCK!!!

Nice pics JAXX --- Congrats. I'm loving this one, can't stop handling it...

All of them are uniquely different... This one is way strong and bold, but was chosen as the "user" as there's a smooth spot on one side about the size of a large thumbprint about halfway down the blade near the edge in the photo with the edge facing (your) right. (top photo, just over halfway to the tip) No complaints, just made choosing my user much less painful!! Heh-heh... :D This thing is COOL, I'm like a kid with a toy playing with this thing!! :D
