I've wanted a ruck for as long as I can remember and I'm finally close to getting one - I have to sacrifice a beautiful blade for it though. What are your opinions on this blade and do you have any cool pics or videos (users are even better)

Here is Vivi using my Ruck. Keep in mind that the edge profile is not factory, I have thinned it down some. Some folks refer to the Bussekin swords as long machetes, but IMHO they really don't work that well in the role of slashing thin, light, whippy vegetation. They are too thick, and can just push the material out of the way before the cut is complete.

THe Ruck is one of, if not the, best big Busse ever made. Its my opinion, but its a good one:)

THe ruck can handle anything from large to small.

I don't own one, but I've been giving some thought to trying to find one to match my AK.

It's "heck" on stands of bamboo.:)

Not bad for limbing, either.

But really, it's just the cool factor. I'm the only homeowner in my neighborhood with my own Ruck for yardwork. I regularly get admiring glances from the other Northern Virginia professionals ... of course, they're not cool enough to ask where I got mine.

I might tell them. Maybe.

I have an AK and it's one of my most used blades during the summer. I use it weekly in the yard and use it when cutting fire wood for knocking the small (pencil thickness) branches off of the rounds.

While it's not a ruck, it's similar enough that I think that the ruck would be just as useful. I like the long handle on the AK because I get more leverage when swinging hard. But, the Ruck would be about as capable.

The ruck feels great and balanced in the hand.

There is enough grip for a full two handed grip, without feeling like there is too much handle hanging off the back for true one handed use.

In photo's it seems thin.

In hand it feels much "meatier" than you expect it to. Much more solid in hand than you would expect from seeing pics, especially spine pics.

I always thought the AK's and Rucks seemed thin in the spine for the length of blade. They are not! But, on the plus side, they are not too thick either. They will chop and withstand any abuse you can think of.

I think the Ruck would make a better thrower than the AK just due to the rounded pommel without any protrusions. Although there are plenty of vids of people throwing the AK also.

awesome clip dude, thanks. gives a nice idea of what the ruck is like in hand... totally different from what I thought. More long knife, less small sword

thanks

In my opinion, one of the best Busse knives. Great 1 handed short sword that can do pretty much anything. Congrats on the very sweet score!!

I like the feel and balance of the AK more than the ruck, but the ruck is better IMHO because it...well...it fits in my ruck:) (that and if is better when using one one hand)
