I am in the market to purchase the Swiss army Rucksak or the trailmaster. the only differance is one is the button lock and the other is a liner lock and one has a cork screw and the other a phillip screw driver. What is the pluse of having a corkscrew?

Thanks,
Colt

Go with the one with the screw driver. The purpose of the corkscrew is to remove corks from bottles

The plus is that if you travel much or carry the knife on a regular basis to parties, barbecues or picnics you will be very popular when no one else thought to bring a corkscrew along.

If the rucksack had a screwdriver instead of the cork screw,it would be the perfect knife. I thought the trailmaster was to heavy and why do you need a linerlock on a SAK? By the way,how could anyone drink wine unless they were dying?

Razor, That was my thought also on the Rucksak. I have yet to hold a Trailmaster i like the feel of the Ruck though. How much bigger is the trailmaster?

I went with the Locksmith. It has liner locks on main blade and large screwdriver plus a saw, file, can-opener/screwdriver, philips, and awl blades. I couldn't find it in the states so I ordered it from Switzerland.

I had a trailmaster. It was identical to the rucksack except the handles were black and the phillips instead of the corkscrew. On scene tactical will make a great neck sheath too.

Have a trailmaster and like it. A little more weight that i'd like but that screw driver more than makes up for it.

the one benefit of the corkscrew is the fact that it can hold the mini screwdriver, giving you two tools in one. I've got a gerber tool for screwdrivers anyway, my SAK is carried for the saw and locking blade. The screwdriver blade on the can opener is adequate to deal with about 90% of philips screws I come across, and it's invaluable to have the mini screwdriver since I wear glasses.....
