Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a silencer from a Utah Silencer maker this summer for my Ruger 10/22 and instead of modding the current barrel to work wth it, I want to get a new barrel. I have an older (Mid 60's) 10/22 DSP I inherited from my father after he passed so I want to keep it stock. Figure a second barrel for the silencer will allow me to do that. Anyways on to my question:

What are some good after market barrels for the 10/22 that don't cost tons? I'm not looking for crazy accurate, just good quality construction that I can mount a silencer too or mod to add a silencer to. I'll mainly be using it at the shooting range to blast pop/water bottles, sun flowers and Skeet. The normal distance for me is 25 feet to 75 yards. Love blasting tin cans. So let me know some good brands that are avaliable at places like Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabelas, Big 5 and the like. Thanks,

Heber

tactical solutions makes barrels pre-threaded for use with cans. they are bull barrels that are an aluminum jacket over a steel barrel liner.

check Brownell's and see what they offer - for what you want to do, pretty much anything they offer in a standard barrel profile will work, especially if they offer one with threaded muzzle.
