those who were kind and posted pics of this knife please, is this blade ats-34 or 440c? ive checked the sites selling the blade are split 50-50. they give the specs and some say its 440c and the other ats-34.

im wary of the latter cause i cant sharpen something like that. the engraving on the blade is real classy to me! only the andgel on my right shoulder is keeping from shipping out my credit card right now and buying it!

The blade steel is 440C. I wouldn't think that a master of woodcraft would have problems sharpening a knife though, regardless of the steel used..

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels

Oh lordy, that was the absolute funniest movie I have seen in ages..
I had to watch it twice though, and turn on the closed catpioning 2nd time around, to fully understand the dialogue...:)

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was hilarious, but I think Snatch was twice as funny.

"What do you need a gun for?"
"For protection."
"Protection from what? Ze Germans?":D

Hmmm, now if that locking button on the Ruger All Weather actually did something constructive, like as in an auto, now that could be something! I think a folding knife must be capable of being opened by 1 hand. According to the March Tactical Knives this is a knife that requires 2 hands to open. However, it sure is attractive - hopefully they'll make it more one hand friendly.

I was watching the American Shooter the other day and they showed the new Ruger knife in the new items section of the show. It looks nice. I do not however think that Ruger will attempt to make it more one hand friendly. I love all of my Rugers, the company is a good one. I think that the knife was intended to open with both hands, as Ruger is always very concerned with potential law suits. This way they do not have the troubles that CRKT had awhile back with customs officials. At least that was what I thought about it.

The Ruger was discussed here not too long ago.

The Ruger knife is manufactured by Paragon. The ones I have seen and held are a bit on the flimsy side as far as the lockup and lateral play are concerned. The synthetic handle IS NOT going to allow the knife to take much twisting, and the button lock is not a tapered plunge lock as the Microtechs have. The Ruger AWK is sharp to look at but I wouldn't rely too heavily on it as a primary folding knife.

I am not a big fan of Paragon knives:barf:
