Ruger Bearcat or Single Six?

I have decided to get a SA .22 revolver and I'm pretty sure I want a Ruger. My question is aside from the ability besides the sights and ability to fire .22mag what's the difference in the Single Six and Bearcat. I'd be using it strictly as a range gun for recreation and don't own a .22 mag rifle so having the extra cylinder doesn't matter to me. I like the sights on the Bearcat better as what I really want is a model P but they cost too much and I like .22 ammo prices. I wear between a Large and X-large glove and my main concern is the bearcat may be too small? I have handled a few Single Sixes in person and like them but have not seen a bearcat in person, are they much smaller than the Single Six? I've also heard the Single Six is not as accurate when firing .22LR? Thanks.

I'm not too familiar with the Bearcat but wanted to say that I've noticed no accuracy problems with my Single Six. It is the most accurate and fun to shoot pistol I have ever used.

Here is a picture I pulled off the Net show the two together. I have a Single Six and have owned a older bearcat. not much difference other than size. All the Rugers are made well and should be accurate.

It's up to you how big or small a gun you can shoot. If it's not comfortable you wont shoot it or want to. Go to a gun store and try both see what fits you best. You won't be disappointed with a Ruger.

I've had one of each and regret selling the Bearcat more, since it was smaller and more pocketable.

It appears you have big hands, so I'd recommend the Single-Six. You can get after-market grips for that model to fit about any size hand.

I had no issues with accuracy, I just had to keep trying different brands until I found the "magic pill", but this common with .22s.

I have both. I like the single-six better.

I have had no accuracy problems with the single six.

If you have larger hands, you WILL want the single six. The Bearcat feels small to me and I have average or smaller than average hands.

Here's a pic of them together if that helps.

the bearcats are pretty small, but i liked mine a lot.

i had one back in the late '60's and someone stole it outta my dads car (along w/a navy arms .36 replica 1851 colt and a ted williams 16 gauge pump shotgun).

I've owned both and liked the single six better. It's size makes it more like practicing with a real six gun.

I agree, the Single Six is much better. The Bearcat is nice and small, but the Single Six is the better buy.
FWIW, I have both.
