In just the last few days, the Ruger SP101 with 4 in barrel has been added to Rugers website (although the gun is apparently in stores, and there are already a few internet reviews available)

There is also a 8 round .22 version of the SP101. If you look around the site, you also see that Ruger has a .22 version of the LCR.

All this this isn't new news, but it sure was to me.

I quite fancy a .454 Super Redhawk Alaskan myself.

One of these days I'll pick one up.

I've handled the .22 SP101 a couple times. Great looking and feeling pistol. But, for what it is, it's pretty expensive and the trigger spring is a hell of a lot tougher than what it needs to be.

Went to the range today with mine. Ran 50 rounds through it. It's a keeper!

Quite honestly this confuses me. With a 4 inch barrel theres no reason to have a 5 shot cylinder. It would be great to have these adjustable sights on the other models, but the whole point of the sp101 is to be a smaller more concealable revolver than the gp100.

I wish they would offer the SP101 with an 8 inch barrel and chamber it in .22 WMR.

Got this one. Love the disclaimer. ha ha ha

I'm with you. I have an SP101 which is great, but if I wanted a larger revolver I'd just get a GP100 which is a six shooter.

I can honestly say that I've never had a failure to eject with any Ruger revolver.

The 4" SP101 weighs 29.5 ounces. The comparable GP100 weighs 40. The former would be much easier for carrying in the woods all day. As a house gun, the SP101 might be better for those with smaller hands.

Have a 3" SP101 .357 that I love, would also love to get a 4" in .22LR.

I really like that they're introducing the 4" model in all the calibers, it's a beautiful model. As for the GP100 4" vs SP101 4", if you get them in hand, there really is a pretty sizable difference. GP100 are beefy.

The GP weighs more, but the SP (which wasn't a dainty gun to begin with) is now bigger and heavier than before. Both guns are going to have to sit on the hip regardless, so you might as well have the extra shot, and the extra weight since its going to be negligible in the holster, but beneficial when shooting.

I've got a 3" SP-101 .357 it's one of my favorite pistols. I own quite a few handguns but the SP-101 is one of my main go to carry guns, especially with the badger boot grip on it. It's extremely easy to conceal with nothing more than a T-shirt and a crossbreed super-tuck holster.

Has anyone here ever shot the SP101 3" with heavy ammo, specifically 180gr or 200gr? Wondering what the accuracy, recoil, and follow up aiming is like. Thanks...

I've shot Federal 180gr CastCore in mine with no problems. Not much different than 158gr Hydrashoks.
