Ruike and Real Steel?

ive been looking into cheaper knife companies for edc beaters to bring to work and I just wanted some information on them. I've had people on this forum suggest real steel in the past, and while looking on Amazon at Real Steel, a few knives by Ruike came up. I just wanted to make sure these brands aren't like quartermaster or enlan and copy other companies designs.

Also, upon further inspection the fit and finish on Ruike knives seems to be poor, scratches on the blades and what not.

So i was wondering if any of you had more knowledge on these companies and could shed some light on them.

Obviously I can always turn to more trustworthy companies like kershaw, Ontario and spyderco. But I was just looking to expand my horizons and find knives around that $50 mark or less.

I would not want to support a company who copies designs so if you know they do that please say so, or if you have experience with them and they're just very poor quality then obviously I'd like to know!

Thanks everyone

I have a Real Steel Sea Eagle, and it is an excellent knife for the money. The action is extremely smooth, locks up tight, no play, fit/finish is excellent. Well worth the $. The only issue I have with that knife is the blade is a full 0.140" thick at the spine, and is thick at the edge. The factory edge angle was probably around 22°, and after dropping it down to 15° (per side), the edge bevel is very wide. I prefer pocket knives that are much thinner than this, but it is a very robust design that I think would hold up well in heavy work loads. I may end up thinning the blade down to .005" at the edge, but that would mess up the stone wash finish, which I do like. 14C28n steel ~60HRC....good stuff.

Real Steels are legit. Hard to beat for the price. I carry a Gerfalcon as a work knife.

Ruike I am not familiar with.

I have a Sea Eagle too and it is fantastic. I plan to buy another very soon, very well made. Surprisingly good blade geometry and heat treatment! Comfortable in hand as well.

My bad, I didn't think of it. Either way, you don't have to be condescending. Try being patient and nice...although I know some people are incapable of such things
it was just a question. maybe you dont have a search function, i dont know if you do or not. sorry you felt it was Condescending, proper forum use would be to search first anyways. maybe if you dont have paid membership you dont have search, ive heard that before.

glad i could at least help with the information provided in the link tho.

I too am in the market for budget knives. I recently bought a Kizer Vanguard Gemini with VG10 blade steel. I paid 75 dollars for mine, a little above your set budget but a great value IMO.

I've got a couple of Ruike knives (801 and L11), check out www.ruikeknives.com, they are being distributed by the same people that sell Fenix lights. So far, I'm impressed with both for their quality and price points.
