Got this one today! It is my second Rukus. My first is a 610 with a plain edge, satin blade and the optional ivory micarta grips. The one today is the 610BK with the plain edge, black blade and the optional silver twill G-10 grips. Man I thought the ivory grips and satin blade were really set off, and they are:), but the silver twill G-10 and the black blade just look plain ole' great! One thing I've noticed about both of these Rukuses is that the green micarta handles on both knives were of different shades, one side a light green/brown and the other side a med/dark green. Not that it matters now as the optional grips are in place. I will try and get some pictures of both knives up as soon as I can and now that both are here. I'm thinking how good the black carbon fiber grips would look on the 610BK as it would give you a totally black knife except for the blade edge! Maybe a project for next year with the 610BKS model.:thumbup::thumbup:

Post pics ASAP!
What does the Ivory look like with the black blade?

Just so you know, the carbon fiber scales are not as dark as most dealers pics show. They are more dark grey than black. Here's a pic with the CF's and a 707-701.

Hey bearcut, thanks for the pic. Yeah, not as dark as I would hope for, but still a very nice contrast. I didn't try the ivory on the 610BK, but I think it would look pretty good.

Hey cutter17 I have the black g10 scales on my 615 and it looks great. Maybe pick up a set for the 610. It would give you the look you want.

I noticed too that the back side (clip side) Micarta IS a lighter shade than the front side Micarta. I won;t see it again until Christmas, but I remember noticing that when I handled it. No worries though....the knife is too nice to fret over such trivial trivia. ((( :D )))

I keep being tempted to get a Rukus, especially for those silver G10 scales (possibly my favorite handle material), but somehow other knives keep trumping it when it comes to buying. I think it's just that it doesn't fit my hand right. The large one is too big, and the small one feels too restricting in how it lets you grip it. Maybe your pics with the silver G10 could tip the scales, though...

.............that $125.00 could sure tip the scales for me to get a third Rukus:)!! IF only there were a Sportsman's Warehouse nearby:(. gmarthur, I forgot about the black G-10 scales, they would definately do the trick, thanks for reminding me. Got to tell you elmora, you won't go wrong with the 610. At first i was unsure of the grip, but after carrying and using it, the 610 is one of my favorites!

I was also slightly curious, do you ever find in use that the finger guard gets in the way of various tasks? And if so, is there a particular sort of task that it's particularly in the way for (or helpful for, for that matter)? Not sure why, but I guess I've just always felt like finger guards would end up just getting in the way during EDC use.

Now if I could just find the time/means to get to a Sportsman Warehouse to check that deal out...
