I've been meaning to write this post for a while so here it is: I have a BM 610 and believe that it might have a defect. It doesn't bother me so I don't really care but I would like to know whether this is normal or not.
(for all you with a 610 get it out now!)
On my rukus, above the axis lock, there is a little screw to hold the micarta down on the left side of the knife but not on the right (if you are holding the knife closed with the spine of the blade towards you) on my minirukus there is a screw on both sides...I didn't notice this on my rukus for well over a month and when I did I didn't know if it was normal or not. so maybe you guys(and gals) can sate my curiosity and elucidate me on whether this is standard screw arrangement or not

Yeah thats normal, actually thats normal for almost all BM's with an axis lock. That little screw holds the stop bar in place but doesn't go all the way through into the other liner. Why they did it like that idunno but it works just fine. The only thing I don't like about it is when disassembling the knife the first time you need some needle nose pliers or a good pair of hemastats to hold that sucker while you take the screw out.
