Rukus vs Skirmish FNF

Realize they are different knives, different lengths, different weight class, different lock, use for different functions etc. Right.

But for those who have each model, I'd appreciate opinions on fit and finish of each, relative to one another.

I was thinking that since the skirmish handles are simply one piece (machined?) titanium plates, it would be harder to "mess that up". Where the 610 has multiple pieces of micarta and g10 fit together, there is more opportunity for error.

The black clip on the rukus- is that just painted on? Does it eventually chip off?

Thanks.

If it's anything like the clip on my Grip (heh), then, yep, the paint will chip and/or rub off over time. 'tis ok, though, it gives it more personality :)

the titanium on the skirmish will get scratches and dings fairly easily. Also, I have to adjust the pivot tension fairly regularly as I don't like using loctite and the large, heavy blade causes the pivot to loosen readily. I have none of these problems with the Rukus.

Also, I fing the low ride clip of the Rukus light years beyond the huge tip down only clip of the skirmish. Hope this helps.

The clip from the Mini Skirmish fits the full size model.

Black coatings come off eventually, as a rule.

I have found fit and finish to be equal among the models. If the black coating bugs ya, then go Skirmish. If scratched scales bug ya, go RUKUS.

If you want to carry, I'd recommend the Skirmish. If you want a showpiece or outdoor knife, the RUKUS is grand.
