Spark,
are we aloud to post as many posts as we want in the makers forsale forum at one time? Say 7-8 new threads at one time? Since the no bump rule is still in effect i was just curious? 1-2 people could have the entire first page, you may need to go check it out,you will see what i mean
thanks bill

Since threads aren't getting bumped, we removed the thread limits

Seems like one or two people have decided since they can't control the first page by bumping old threads any more, they'll control the first page by starting new threads instead.

I stack threads all the time, meaning i post 2 or 3 knives if there ready in one thread, to give the other guys room, but this action is just like the bump rule, if you cant bump it to the top post a page full? I could see if it were multiple people posting 1 or 2 knives and filling the page, that is understandable
but not 6,7,or 8 knives at a time, thats rediculous most buyers dont look past the first page, just a theroy , imho
thanks spark
bests,bill

We heard this argument when we first changed the sort order. It turns out, buyers are better able to search listings without the bumps because everything is in a consistent order and you don't have to worry about missing something because it got bumped or the sort changed.

I don't think anybody's proposing going back to allowing bumps!

The question is: Is it a good idea to allow one knifemaker to dominate the first page by starting seven new threads in one day, and let him keep doing that over and over? That is happening.

And im only saying, Me an alot of the part & fulltime makers prefer it back to the way it was, 2 & 2 , or maybe 3 & 3 on first and second page, that way everyone has a fair chance for there product to be seen, please take this into consideration.
THANKS bill

How about if you want to post 6 or 7 knives for sale today, post them all in one thread?

I scrolled through a bunch of pages and didn't see that. Can you tell me which exact forum this is happening in?

It's happening in both of them: in For Sale: Folders where we currently see 7 threads posted by aland on the first page, and in For Sale: Fixed Blades where we currently see 6 threads posted by aland on the first page and also 6 posted by Oleg Krymlin‎ in less than one hour. Glancing over the next page or two it becomes clear those are not the only ones doing it. When I looked earlier darrin sanders had 8 threads on the first page of Fixed Blades but now they've all been crowded out by the other spammers.

Looks to me like the knifemaker forums would benefit from having the same rules enforced as in the individual and dealer forums.

There's no thread limit on the individual and dealer forums right now.

i know but there needs to be a limit set or something, since 2 people could take the whole first page, 9 threads from 1 maker 5 from another 4 from another pretty well somes the 1st page up

Thanks couger for pointing this out, it needs to be anounced on the forum or moderated

The problem is worse in the Makers Fixed Blade forum. The thread at the bottom of page one there started June 17th - only two days ago.

There aren't near as many knives listed in the folder section. The thread at the bottom of page one is June 4th - 15 days ago. If a 2 thread limit was put in the folder form , well it takes a lot of time to cycle through page 1 there due to the lower traffic.

True, but the threads aren't getting bumped to the top constantly either, and when that was occurring, your thread was usually gone off the first page in 15 minutes.

my opinion only, we should go back to 2 & 2 or 3 & 3 on the 1st and second page,it was working fine now this , EVEN BUYERS ARE COMPLAINING???
