I recently picked up a Spyderco that I can't find much info about online, as far as current value. Is it ok to ask for opinions on that here?

Do you know what model it is? If not show a pic, we can tell you what it is, lock thread and do some Google "in

Cool, I'm good to go then.

The knife I wanted to ask about is a Spyderco Lum Tanto with titanium scales and ATS-55 steel.

Looks like it has been carried, there are snail trails on the titanium but the blade looks unused and unsharpened.

edit: also, it has no box or paperwork.

Does anybody know what the 916 in the blade refers to? Is that a serial number?

Also when introduced I think it was the highest priced direct soydercos of that era. If not top one of them for sure.

That's a Collectors Club number. It doesn't necessarily add or detract from the value of this piece. Some folks don't care that it's there, some do.

I didn't think the collector club count went that high...? Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know much about it.

It's actually not a collectors club number. Spyderco used to number the first 1000 of collaboration models. The collectors club only has a maximum of 200 members/numbers at one time.

I was thinking I was wrong with that number.
Thanks for furthering my Spyderco education.
