Endura 4 with Wave
Came in the mail yesterday, and went to work on the clip. I don't mind black clips, I just hate it when the paint starts to come off. It only takes a day of carry to have it starting to look like crap.
Added a simple lanyard. I am not into fancy ones.
I also have a Emerson HD-7 that cost me 3x this, but I am liking Endura 4 more! Call me crazy, but that's just me!
Many people have their opinion on what is the best knife. I believe the knife has to have solid reliablity and quality. Anybody can make a great knife, but can everybody do it a cost that most are willing to pay? I think that is the main question.
I love all the neat gimmicks found on more expensive knives as much as the next guy, but are all those bells and whistles necessary.
Here is a knife that I feel has everything you need and nothing you don't.
Endura/Delica 4 Wave
Textured FRN: The texturing on the new Spydercos are something else! Don't get me wrong, I love G-10, but Spyderco FRN is at a whole another level compared to other companies.
Steel liners: This is missing from the Endura/Delica 3 and other distinguished knives.
4 way clip: Well, didn't need it on a waved knife, but I'll take it. The FRN scales are identical to all Enduras except for color.
Wave: If you haven't handled one yet, you really don't know what you are missing. The fastest opening method is now a regular on the Spyderco line-up. The quality of Spyderco, with the best feature of a $120 Emerson (minimum) for $50.
VG-10: One of my all-time favorite steels. Easy to sharpen. Retains an edge fairly well. Takes on a scary edge like a laser!
Enjoy the pics.
