I am not sure if this was the right place to put this. Mods, please excuse if I messed up.

I went to Ammoman tonight to order some .223 and up came a message

We are unable to take orders at this time. We have a backlog of over 3000 orders. Please be patient.

Then went to Sportsmansguide.com and they are backordered on most of the ammo I use (.45ACP, 9MM &.223 & 5.56)

I am thinking there has been some event that has created a sort of panic about ammo.

Someone please tell me what is going on:rolleyes:

Now see, if you already had 20,000 rounds in your basement just waiting for the bird flu or civil unrest or a rainy day or whatever, this would not be an issue, would it?

Not that I hoard ammo. Guns are dangerous and should only be owned by Obama's civilian security force. We all know that.

I'm just saying. :)

The pistol rack and shelves that hold reloading components were nearly bare at the local Sportsman's Warehouse today. Apparently they sold about $250,000 worth of hand guns this week end.

Paranoia is always good for the gun business.

Not really sure if it’s paranoia or not, but yah it is good for business when you get a president that is not only for banning all semi automatic weapons but concealed carry nationally as we’ll … That may have something to do with it…..

LOL

Powernoodle.............I am closing in on you, but have a ways to go for 20K.

I am guessing Black Rifles are not just sitting on the shelves either.

As for the tin foil hat.................where the hell did I put that thing.

Some folks are idiots and are easily manipulated by others.....and some gun shops are just fear mongers who encourage the idiots, just to increase sales. :thumbdn:

Don't be a douche! Of course obama being president of this great nation should scare us enough to start hording ammo!!;)

Yeah, I read an article about this on yahoo news. Across America since election day, many, many gun shops have reported all time high record sales. Get your high cap mags and assault rifles while you still can!!

That is true in some cases, but then again they did it in 94 so why couldn’t they do it again.. So maybe their paranoia is well founded... A friend of mine made an investment in hi cap magazines before the last ban and made a killing…

I take some offense to that. It is quite possible the price of ammo will increase or become scarce as the left uses those reasonable restrictions related to gun rights.

If I can afford to stock ammo and choose to do so that makes me an idiot?

Election triggers upsurge in military-like firearms sales

Obama backs renewing the federal Assault Weapons Ban

As polls and pundits in recent weeks increasingly pointed to the election of Barack Obama as the next president, scores of Utahns flocked to gun stores.
Obama has supported renewing the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban, which stops the manufacture of several semiautomatic guns with large magazines.
"Such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets," Obama's Web site states.
Local gun dealers quickly are running out of stock of magazines for Colt AR-15s and AK models and many have seen a sharp increase in the sales of those guns.

This is not General KNIFE Discussion material under any circumtances. It almost looks like Gadgets & Gear, but was obviously meant to push political buttons. We have Current Events and the Political Arena for that. Please consider posting honestly by their rules in those forums. I'm locking this.
