God bless Bill Ruple, Larry at KnifeArt, the UPS guy, Arne Mason for his cases and Mr. RenWax for a dab of his stuff. It all just came together about an hour ago.
Happy camper down Texas way.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty thrilled with it. Check out the filework, the way it comes together on the blade spines.

I understand your excitement. I just picked up one of his knives and he truly is a craftsman.

Nice knife. You got a real beauty. Bill is one of the great ones... top knifemaker and easy to talk with. Wish I could have attended the show here in Austin. :grumpy: I just bet that knife was sitting on his table... but only for a few minutes.

Are you going to carry it or put it away?

fasteddie,
I'm sure it will get carried. I like to carry my nice ones but can never bring myself to use them too hard. I just like having them on me. It will only see light duty and will be babied. There is always something else close at hand for the big jobs.
I didnt see this particular one at the Austin show but there was a black lip pearl doctor pattern that was really something.

Thanks for the nice comments on my work. Hope you enjoy the knife. I`m thrilled that you are going to carry it, thats what I make them for.
Thanks again
Bill Ruple

Hey Bill... I notice 2 patterns that are new since Blade, including the larger copperhead in this thread. What other patterns are you thinking about lately?

Hey Ed
I have made several of the larger copperheads and also have done several of the 3 blade stockmen, 3 1/2' closed. My next project is a harness jack. It has a spear point blade and a leather punch. I am working on the design for the punch blade now.

The knives I have of Bill's take on more aspects than a knife to me. Getting to know him a little leads me to thinking about the person who made the knife when I handle or use them and those thoughts are always good when I pick up one of Bill's. That is why knives from those types of makers (and thankfully there are many of them) become very special to me.

Man, am I being a mush-head today or what. :D

But do you know him well enough to call him "Sparky?"

Sorry, Bill. Didn't mean to offend you or anyone else on this forum. Just goofing around.
