Finally, it is here! Been waiting on this one for a while, and I plan to use it. Blade is 5.5" of forged 1086 modified(1084 with a little extra carbon, a little less manganese and .25% Vanadium), stainless single guard and what a piece of Cocobolo!

Other side. As you can see, this knife is just the right size for carrying around all day in the woods. Just enough room in front of the guard to choke up on too.

Other side again. You can't see it in these crappy pictures, but there is a definite temper line going on with this knife. Not bold, but still visible. Also, the pictures do not show the nice swedge on the spine, going most of the way back to the guard.

Russ also does some fine leather work. Here's one of the knife in the sheath.

Man, that is a niiiice piece of cocobolo. Heck, the whole knife is super-sweet! Another great example of Russ' hyper-clean work. Since you say you're actually going to use that beauty, then make sure to tell us all about it - I have no doubt that it will work every bit as well as it looks.

Cheers,

Roger

Dan that is one great looking knife and the mod on the blade chemistry sound very interesting.I would sure like to hear how the steel performs.BTW looking at the 5.5" long blade pictured in your hand remind me not to cross you.:D

Look at those dainty little fingers. Just get a manicure, Danbo?

:p

That is indeed a beautiful knife, though. I looks like it fits the hand nicely, and, having seen Mr. Andrews' work up close, I'm sure the blade is ground clean, flat, thin and sharp. Let us know how it cuts!

You got it. Howard Clark is the only person to have it, besides the company he got it from, and the people Howard has sold some to. I think Howard bought something like 10,000 lbs of it.
