Sorry to learn of another shop fire in the community. Russ Andrews lost his shop to fire last night. I spoke with Russ this evening and he feels most of his shop equipment is ruined.

Russ' shop is close to his home, but fortunately the fire was contained to the shop only, and Russ and his wife Nancy are fine. Russ has his finish room in his house, so all fit/finish tools and handle materials were not included.

Russ can update us later, after he has a chance to assess the damages.

Hi I'm a new in the forum and I'm unhappy twice, for them and this crap situation and for me that I can't help them at all...

All I can do it's to say a little prayer for them. At least they are safe.

Best regards

This is sad news indeed. If anyone wants to organize a relief fund, I will willingly donate a knife to the cause of rebuilding Russ' shop.

I heard this tragic news yesterday morning. I am relieved that Russ and his wife were unharmed. Such a blow to a great maker and the community in general. I hope Russ let's us know how we can help and that he receives the help he needs.

Not another! Sorry to hear.

We need details about insurance coverage an stuff so we can help Russ as needed.

Thanks for posting Joe - I didn't see that you had when I posted my thread - feel so bad for Russ.

Thanks MUCH for the thoughts.
Our Insurance will cover a lot.....don't have details about that yet.
Inspectors will be here today...we'll know more after.
We'll update as we can.....

Thanks

Wow sorry to hear and glad everyone is OK.

Another wake up call. I hope everyone takes a moment to make sure their own areas are safe- Sadly we lost some 4 legged family members and I'd really hate to see anyone hurt.

Russ, glad to hear you're OK and that your insurance policy will help cover some of the financial loss, but we all know the rebuilding effort will take much more than just money. Please let us know what you need and how we can help. For this world to be even temporarily deprived of your knifemaking talents because of a lack of shop tools would simply be unacceptable!

Terrible news again here. I'm sorry for your loss Russ. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. Glad you're both okay!

Like the others have said, keep us posted on what you'll need.

so glad no one was hurt. What a drag, sorry to hear about this.
