Got to wonderin, I don't read much about the Case Russlocks...

I guess its kind of a neat concept, but it just never really grabbed me enough to try one... But in all honesty I have never played with one in person..

Just wondered who has one and if you like them?

I had one in blue bone. Carried for a week when I was in Florida for business found a bit awkward to open and it just to lay well in the pocket. Gave to a buddy of mine recently. He's not much of a knife guy but recognized it was a Case. If nothing else he swears it's a great worry stone for him.

I have one , I got it a few years back as a Christmas present. I like the looks of the knife and the up-swept blade, but I never could master one handed opening of the knife with just the tang extension. It can be done , just not comfortably ( for me anyway).

It's also the only Case knife I own that had a lot of side to side play, it should have gone back to Case , but I "adjusted" it myself. It's also a slip joint with a liner lock, although it's really more of a blade stop.

As I said , nice looking....

I have one with the black pocket worn bone w/the red, white, & blue shield. I also bought the Case sheath made for it. It's really the only comfortable way to carry a Russlock. I like mine and take it with when I'm out scouting up hunting season, riding the ATV, and such. It's a nice knife with great fit and finish but not an "ideal" knife.

I have one and like it a lot. It's pictured in my avatar. It carries fine in the pocket for me but I only ever wear jeans, with slacks it probably would be a little awkward.

I have one in pocket worn red bone I got a little while back in a trade and so far it's been a good little knife, great fit and finish and no blade play. I like the look of it, and I agree with Jamie that it carries fine in my jeans pocket, although I can see it being a awkward in slacks. Also, once you get used to it, it's really easy to open and close one handed using the tang extension, which makes it a good introduction to slipjoints to the "one-hand opener" tactical crowd.

I've got one in Autumn Bone because I've got most of the Autumn Bone knives. The Russlock doesn't get carried a lot for the reasons mentioned above. I've also got the Mid-Folding Hunter, and they're very similar, except for the opener on the tang of the Russlock. And they share the same problem: For those of us used to more standard (I hesitate to say "traditional") one-handed openers the springs on these knives are hard to get used to. The spring exerts more tension than I'm used to and makes opening them somewhat difficult.

I had one, the secret is learning to open it. I do it on my blue jeans. I wish the knife did not lock though. That cat's paw / liner lock gets in the way more than it helps.

i have only seen them in photos, but it looks like a neat concept.

something of a mix between a friction folder, a slipjoint and a linerlock.

not something that i would be too inclined to carry though, mostly because of the strange blade shape i think, and because the tang would probably be a bit tricky to work in the pocket.

I've got a yellow handled one in CV, I love it and it's part of my EDC rotation, gotta get it in CV though.

Not crazy about this pattern. They are awkward to open for me. I keep one as part of a series that I have. I also bought one with a drop point blade once. It brought a premium on ebay. I think they are hard to find with that drop point blade.
